Honestly, in thinking over this, I'm going to take out some edits I made as well. Tanyuu ( talk) 23:28, (UTC) Just as a note, if you'd like to add something to Trivia about it, I myself don't see any problem with just stating something like 'If Id is the id, this would make the Fei personality.' etcetc. There's probably something in Perfect Works, and when one of us finds that, we can slap that cite in. That doesn't mean these things are automatically untrue, just that I want to make sure we don't make assumptions where devs may have wanted things to be vague, hence the 'no original research' rule.

Whitehorse24 ( talk) 15:32, (UTC) Regarding that: the Xenogears/saga wiki goes by the games, then official material like Perfect Works and Official Design Materials, not TV Tropes. Tanyuu ( talk) 21:56, 24 January 2021 (UTC) Ok, one more time! According to TV Tropes, Id is Id, the "Coward" is Ego, and Fei is Superego. in short, I don't think it's the wikia's place to say what is what if there's no canon answer, especially since I don't want that to be used to silence people from having their own fun with it, like you're doing here. It's not until after the game begins we get to see the holes in there. He's aware of the norms of Lahan, he helps around the village, and there's no signs of his mental age mirroring his self's actual age. Going into my own opinion here, but the 'Artificial' Fei pretty much acts like he's got all the parts of a normal self. He's there to carry all the bad memories the Coward (ie the original personality) didn't want when he sealed himself away. Id was formed from trauma, and he's not playing the part of a superego in basic Freudian terms. In terms of the game makers' intentions (which I try to hold the wikia to because oh boy does this game have some massive fanon that's lost to old internet pages), I don't think they mean any of it as a one to one analogy, especially since it falls apart when we go into specifics. Whitehorse24 ( talk) 15:29, 24 January 2021 (UTC) Hm, that could be one way of seeing it, and boy would it be fun to see a paper on that. This is similar to Freud's theory regarding the iceberg.

The "Coward" was sealed away, and the artificial Fei we see throughout most of the game is only sometimes taken over by Id. Fei is Ego, Id is Superego and the "Coward" is Id? If it's true then it makes sense. Though, looking at the titles, I see I forgot to change that when I was adding those references. I used to think that, but turns out the staff was simply using the name 'Id' rather than meaning it to be a one-to-one equation. Just to be sure, Fei is Ego, the "Coward" is Superego and Id is.
